Psalm 23 for Lisa

Psalm 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths
of righteousness for his name's sake.

Lisa Baby, You Shouldn’t Want/ My Love Is Amity

Lisa,
I want you to lie down
Let the sun kiss your face close your eyes
Romance: its okay to dream
Be still and know
My love
At night I gaze into the cosmos
My arms wrapped around my knees
Visions of my heart by stars
Illuminated
I sit on green pastures
And I pray for you
I see our hands
Intertwined
(one body one bond one mind)

You are beautiful, my love,
I’ll make sure you never lack
Whatever you want my love will procure
And place in your hands
My desire will protect you in the valley
From falling
From the venom of vipers
Lingering for your demise
And unhappiness

Let those who hurt you see us prosper
My kiss will anoint you
In my embrace forever dwell

Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, [a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

6 Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

The psalm has always been regarded as one of exquisite beauty. The main subject is the watchful care which God had extended over the author, and the consequent assurance which he felt that God would still watch over him, and supply all his need. The leading thought– the essential idea– is, his full belief that God would provide for him, and that he would never be left to want. (Barnes' Notes)
