+-----Jay Cutler's (Futile) Wall Of Stone #HTTR
Kirk, the Chicago Bears are
nothing save a motley, untrained
and unskilled band of anemic
gridiron brothers unwittingly appointed
a fate of peril. Their confidence in their
slim playoff chances, towering wall
of slabs circumscribing Soldier Field,
is misplaced. Jay Cutler,
fainthearted war captain, is cowardly
and prone to cowering in the face of
colliding steel, the helmets of
burly Redskins defensive lineman
striking those of his flaccid offense line’s
menacingly. But, trust me, on Sunday
when you, Matt Jones and Desean
Jackson march down the football field,
ark of the covenant of Jay Gruden’s
playbook before you, bearing your
unflappable courage as rousing trumpets
trailing closely behind, stone will
dislodge from stone. This bastion
they depended on will devolve and
scatter into dilapidation, their entire
season a crumbled remnant of losing. Just
deliver the war cry “YOU LIKE THAT?!!”
and the Burgundy and Gold will rush to
plunder, scoring touchdowns at will.
No Bear player’s joy will remain alive.
---Joshua 6:1-5
Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in. Then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”
