A Lament for Always

[The setting:  Tony stands on the edge of the shores of the Lake of Fire beside St. Michael the Archangel whilst he firmly grips Satan’s neck hoisting and dangling him over the fiery waves. Satan wildly flails his arms and legs yet St. Michael’s muscular steely arm holds steady. The look of pure terror on Satan’s face drastically contrasts with the sustained and searing look of indignation on St. Michael’s. The sheer heat from the waves and their tempestuousness bar anyone without God’s protection from approaching anywhere within 30 miles without melting followed by expeditious scorching incineration]

Tony (shocked and mesmerized): WOOOOAHHHH DUDE! DUDE!!!! EEK! EGADS!! Duuuuuuuuuuude!

(St. Michael looks at Tony impatiently)

St Michael: ……………………………..

(St Michael’s look of disdain for Satan carries over into his glance at Tony’s giddy glibness. He looks back at Satan)

Tony(still shocked): Hey Mike! ….can I call you that???!!! Daaaaaang son! YOU GOT SATAN IMPERILED SON!! HEMMED IN AND ABOUT TO BE HEMMED UP!!! DIZ-ANG!!! From now on can I call you Magic Mike? You Know cause you got that Magic Strength, my nuggah! What about Mikey, can I call you Mikey??? WOOOOOOOAAAAHHHH!

(St Michael uses his free arm to clasp Tony’s throat and lift him in the air, simultaneously constraining both Satan and Tony)

Tony(choking, and gasping for air): ….okay okay! Maybe Mikey went a little too far! *hacking cough* I give up! I give up! Eeeeeekkk *wheezing* let me down! I repent! IM SORRY!!!

(St Michael drops Tony to the ground with Tony’s resultant writhing around and holding his neck accompanying his landing)

Tony (rubbing his neck): …sheeeesh! *AHEM* SHEEEESH MIKEY, OOPS! I MEAN ST. MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL SIR!!!! …………..so why you got Satan all choked up over there anyway my nuggah?? …OOPS!!!....I mean, good sir??? Youre not gonna actually drop him in there are you????? You cant be THAT mad at the brotha can you???!!!! I MEAN, I COULD SEE WHERE YOUD BE COMING FROM IF SATAN PLAYED FOR THE DALLAS COWBOYS!!! BOOOOOO!!!!

St. Michael (gaze still fixed on Satan, snarling): ….listen to his indictment, and subsequent condemnation…..

Into the fires you go

of nothingness (sulfur waves)

of oblivion, henceforth just a memory (terrifying tides) of failed ambition

corrupt deceitfulness hurled

from the gentle graces of a Genteel Trinity omnipotence unassuming

     now enraged forever now spiteful forever now vindictive

of jealousy that causes blood, bitter envy that germinated
innocence into enmity 

into the Father of Remorse    wailing women you scarred with shame

maligning insecurity and for their men deluded hubris dashed

with futile aspirations to majesty and grandeur of a woman incapable

to satisfy both cursed

both cursing each other seeking solace in sin you seduced them into

hating and loving breasts in suspended contradiction – living to die

you have devalued virtue ridiculed and besmirched righteousness

smirking sardonic sly smiles at abortion winking

when a baby is born full of hatred of his circumstances

when he hates his handsomeness at the sight of another man

his abjectness of soul when he wants what he cant attain

warring lovers jealous kissing and holding hands with spite

conjuring lustful compensations or wrathful stealing vengeance

his choice commerce

with blinded eyes, perpetual, to true freedom of Being

disenfranchised denizens of the damned scowl at heaven

sadness at the prospect of dying…you laugh at each of their funerals

your chief accomplishment - cataclysm

of imparting disconsolation and doldrums at the morning sun

    of instigating and catalyzing abandonment of pursuits of happiness

unjustly adjudicating addiction in its stead these flames of guilt scorching solicit

me for you

when I let go of your neck, know your judgment’s complete -

for eternity you will smolder

neverness and ash

And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
