Wunderkind

---------------------Wunderkind: Jesus' Words To The Temple Teachers

The nighttime breezes carry anecdotes of Perseus
and winds whisper of the Gorgon with snaked hair
and the gales from storms foist glorification of Hesperides
as panacea for all ills
inspiration while enduring insufferable dark
for a Jewish nation oppressed and dictated to by Rome
where even a temple tax is levied
payed to the Emperor
as it citizens take cover under rains of despair
while stories of Moses and Joshua and Samson
slowly dissipate under the vise grip of anxiety that
Stately Jerusalem has been forever lost, and in school
while we children play a noticeable somberness enfolds
our teachers
as though they were unaware of the signs
of the times of the historical significance of the preconditions
for the dawning of a new era
and in the temples do they not know?
that the blood of Abel poured from my veins
that Isaac's birth was my birth and Abraham a metaphor
for my Father offering me, using a knife
as substitute for sins of this world?
I was every lamb, goat, pigeon, dove slaughtered
I was Joseph rejected by my brothers, I was Melchizedek
before the old covenant of more noble lineage and prestige
and I was Noah's Ark that saved
also the Manna in the desert, the Rock in the wilderness
the Brass Serpent
surveying a land full of death, anger and bitterness
begging the sick to simply take notice
and my Law was Samson, strong when honored, weak when betrayed
that this very calamity, falling flat in the dust wedged
between the sandals of Caesar and the prayer for either death
or a Savior
raises worldwide awareness of Golgotha, makes pagan nations
more aware
of Gethsemane, as news of me spreads in a civilized world united
in common language and currency?
a real hero is not one who kills for restoration of hedonistic gains
nor is Medusa the real enemy
there is no greater love than for a man to die for his friends
saving them from themselves
for the real enemy lies within

and a subjugated nation can only rise
(from the ashes of One Man's grueling sacrfice)
when all its subjects lock hand in hand
and bow before its True King

------------------Luke 2:41-47
His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast. When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother did not know it; but supposing Him to have been in the company, they went a day’s journey, and sought Him among their relatives and acquaintances. So when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him. Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers.
