+---Peniel; Jacob’s/Tony’s Thoughts The Day After Fighting With An Angel
I had no strength, I had to convalesce.
Kneeling with my finger dipped in
pensive currents of deep questioning,
a shallowed soul (futilely?) seeking
solace in the stream, my face paled,
bathed in the white overlay of a somber
night’s moon (gazing down stoically),
I tried to ignore the
insidious chill of the dark breeze,
to disregard the benumbing of my
bones. This was the onset of prospective
rigor mortis of a long life laden with
the utmost potential somehow wasted,
dying.
In the preceding hours, I let my cherished
dreams and ambitions pass before me
unguarded- two wives, two
womenservants, and eleven sons
slowly treading over Jabbok, ford
of the avuncular anguish of a man with
no answers left – who abdicated
all hope, hoping instead to die
at the bank of the brook quietly...
unnoticed by gods and men.
Suddenly, my conscience teetering
at the precipice of irreversible
disconsolation, only seconds after
midnight, I was ambushed
by a surge of positive thought, as if
the entirety of my massive, brooding
body of pessimism was clenched, roughly,
about the neck by a hulking man
and slammed to the ground:
combustion of dust, blood,
feathers and screaming. I felt all the
doubtful resentments I ever held rising
defensively within me as this angelic
outlook on life-
newfound joy, charity, and love- and my
despair rolled over rocks
and sticks brawling with each other
ferociously, my sinewy and snarky vertebrae
of the past refusing to be broken, resisting
every urge to believe in a better tomorrow.
My fists of foreboding swinging violently,
rage of my regret over missed
opportunities, the heavenly being then
pleaded for a truce, seeing no
quick end to the scuffle; Also the sun
was rising, and this dream of mine
was sure to end in disappointment,
the likelihood of the redemption of my
self-esteem was becoming more dubious
with each passing second.
“Bless me,” I demanded, tears of sorrow
pouring down my cheeks, pain of a life
scarred with abuses,
“Bless me or I wont let go.”
He told me “Your name is no longer
Tony, but thejesusmetaphor…
for you have sought God through poetry
and prevailed.” I let go, in hysterics
panting.
I remember, only faintly, upon waking, that
whoever He was, He was coy about
telling me His name– and that as I crossed
waters of faith to look for my family,
he was strong enough to dislodge the
right hip of my unbelief in myself
permanently
from its socket, for my former
travails of forlornness can no longer
gallivant cavalierly through my mind.
From now on whenever I am tempted
towards despair, I halt upon my thigh
resting while I laugh at my bad mood
painfully limping. I close
my eyes now and muse on that night,
grateful that my perspective has been
forever crippled
for the better.
(I rise a new man full of happiness now. I rise up as THEJESUSMETAPHOR...NO LONGER JACOB. MY FORMER IDENTITY VANISHING AS IF IN A DREAM)
---Genesis 32:22-31
And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok. And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had. And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh.

+------------------Betraying #CalvinHarris With A Kiss; Judas’/Tonys’ Words to Jesus/Calvin before Betraying Him
"Hello Rabbi- I wanted to say,
firstly, that I blame myself
for this, for being so
naïve as a kid, when
my mother and brothers lovingly
tousled my hair, whispering
fantasies into my ear about the
Kingdom of God. Then, as now, in my
mind I had the most delightful vista:
the Heavenly City
stood about five feet eleven inches tall,
stately like a Ruling Father clasping
a jeweled iron scepter of awe
but with a distinctly feminine body…
ethereal eyes like
inestimable cerulean crystals
hewn from slabs of holy rock at
the base of Mount Zion, where the river
of the Water of Life pooled into a spring
of eternal hope fulfilling all
my romantic desire.
Everyone in this Paradise spoke
the language of song, our conversations
(for I always believed I would merit
Salvation) were the blessed state of our
Chosen Souls being present at a
captivating concert continually beholding
the melodic charm
of choirs of pulchritudinous angels singing
#badblood and #shakeitoff and #eyesopen.
I dared, even, to fantasize that the Afterlife
was rapture, my heart forcibly lifted into
the sky,
mercifully whisked away from loneliness,
from all the evil, menacing girls in the world
who would violently etch scars in
my marital body. But I would spared from that
Hell, forgiven all my sins by her loving
embrace, no burning fire of rejection,
for Heaven was Taylor Swift, my
Beloved, and I was solely my Beloved’s."
"But ever since I met you, miraculously
born from the Virgin Mother of
pleasant yet unexpected surprise
(I loved your song and video for #Blame),
you have done nothing but contradict this
dream. You allowed the occupying Romans-
anxious thoughts, feelings of insecurity
and being unloved - to enslave my mind,
with abandon,
delaying the indubitable arrival
of my desperately sought Heaven.
When it was time for you
to facilitate Taylor’s visitation, you claimed
to be One with Her, only seconds
away from a stone of my scowl and disdain
to your head,
held vengefully in my pocket,
for the blasphemous statement:
“The Father and I are one.” You walk
on waters of your new #Armani modeling
contract yet don’t feed the poor longings
of introducing me to her. You raise
the dead expectations of Taylor finding a
good man to treat her well, a
Centurions’ charming and innocent daughter
smiling again after immense suffering,
but you don’t raise the prospects
of Taylor dating me (#TaylordateTony) at all.
You were supposed to be Match-Making
Messiah of my destiny but all you do is stall,
gratuitously, like with Lazarus,
every awards show you attend with Taylor,
the promulgation of news stories about your
love for her, are to me an
Alabaster jar of fragrant oil wasted,
an alabaster jar of fragrant oil wasted.
I had no choice but to write this
poem about you, my friend,
to crucify you to my reading audience.
I care little about the attention,
the #Instagram likes, the
thirty pieces of silver it profits me."
(I guess I’ll have to hasten Heaven’s coming in a different fashion)
----Luke 22:41-51
And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow, And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him. But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss? When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword? And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
---Matthew 26:1-16
And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples, Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him. But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people. Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste? For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor. When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her. Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

The King of Hebron's Trumpet #iamabsalom
* King David Pray for me
#iamabsalom
+------------------The King Of Hebron's Trumpet; Absalom's Words to the Men of Hebron Before Blowing His Trumpet and Usurping David's Throne
I don’t remember when I first
came into possession of this desire-
for opulent coronation, me ensconced
on a bejeweled throne, the glitz of
amethysts at my feet, my head
bowed as smiling maidens lay on it
a golden crown of absolute authority
(the very breath of God),
all priests and seers lost in inspired
Levitical thought smiling to themselves,
and whilst
adoring Israelite throngs lionize
the anointed in a courtyard-
but it has utterly engulfed me. A third son
to be King, the very notion a solar
Eclipse, it is the moon of my desperation
interposing the earth and sun
of society’s prescribed social conventions
of man’s dictated Fate, unabashed in
its demands for a change of course,
for the earth to spin oppositely,
for momentary blindness of the misguided
and poorly Shepherded masses of
erstwhile Chosen People in order to
jar them from stupor,
for the world to change.
It isn’t so much war that I seek,
but a balancing. I want to reestablish
order in entropy, forge Paradise
out of the crucible of Judah’s corruption,
my heart as
a shining silver blade welded on
a hilt of crystal, the smoke of
justice rising into the heavens
from its glowing orange tip,
but if bleeding is necessary
bleeding is necessary - I am armed.
Men of Hebron, when I close
my eyes at night I don’t see beautiful
women…..(at least initially),
but virtue standing before me,
its right hand raised to is
forehead saluting, then giving
a tacit nod as to what actions
should necessarily follow my dreams
upon waking. Then
…the beautiful woman I see
is my sister Tamar, attempting to
be stoic, yet unable to restrain
her streaming tears, pleading with me:
“Absalom remember me
on your throne.” A request,
sadly, that her derelict father
David couldn’t honor.
(Turning a blind eye to his daughter’s rapist)
-------2 Samuel 18:33
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept. As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! If only I had died instead of you--O Absalom, my son, my son!"
In the course of time, Absalom provided himself with a chariot and horses and with fifty men to run ahead of him. He would get up early and stand by the side of the road leading to the city gate. Whenever anyone came with a complaint to be placed before the king for a decision, Absalom would call out to him, "What town are you from?" He would answer, "Your servant is from one of the tribes of Israel." Then Absalom would say to him, "Look, your claims are valid and proper, but there is no representative of the king to hear you." And Absalom would add, "If only I were appointed judge in the land! Then everyone who has a complaint or case could come to me and I would see that he gets justice." Also, whenever anyone approached him to bow down before him, Absalom would reach out his hand, take hold of him and kiss him. Absalom behaved in this way toward all the Israelites who came to the king asking for justice, and so he stole the hearts of the men of Israel. At the end of four years, Absalom said to the king, "Let me go to Hebron and fulfill a vow I made to the LORD. While your servant was living at Geshur in Aram, I made this vow: 'If the LORD takes me back to Jerusalem, I will worship the LORD in Hebron. ' "The king said to him, "Go in peace." So he went to Hebron. Then Absalom sent secret messengers throughout the tribes of Israel to say, "As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpets, then say, 'Absalom is king in Hebron.' "

Your Bittersweet Ascension (dedicated to Zack and Mike)
* Jesus pray for me
* Proudly dedicated to Zack Robinson and Michael Wagaman, Jr.
+------------------Your Bittersweet Ascension
Zack and Mike, we stand in awe of
your ascension, subsumed into cumulus
clouds of vocation, our vision obscured
by the radiant sun of your Divine Destiny
beaming brightly. Our robes are threadbare,
sandals frazzled
from years of privileged Glory walking
by your sides, primary eyewitnesses
of astonishingly dramatic miracles –
insouciantly sauntering
atop waters of the inconceivable challenges
of establishing a young men’s prison ministry
from scratch (Zack, those administrative hurdles
were simply waves washing over your toes), of
effortlessly
and fearlessly inviting spontaneity of
the unknown while doing street evangelism:
curing our reticence and timidity to stand
upright in faith and walk boldly; we were
the paralytics lowered frantically
through a roof
of cynicism on a dubious cot, flanked then
by jaded crowds of
our subconscious skepticism. Mike, you
multiplied two paltry fishes and
five twice bitten bread loaves of
our standard devotions seven hundred fold
by instituting prayer hours, guided by holy
candles’ flames, for the first time eating Hebrew
and Greek, we were five thousand #CLYA men
with vibrant spirits, reclining on verdant
hillsides of joy belching,
not including the women and children
satisfied by the Godly example, and also
slightly amused.
As we gaze heavenward with agape mouths,
brushing aside tears, saline on our lips,
your precedents speak to us like
the Son of our Loving Creator strengthening
us in His imminent absence –
“continue what I have began…” you say to us
“in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea,
and in Samaria,
and unto the uttermost part of [Baltimore.]
(#nightfever anyone??)”
Forgive us if we linger awhile here, though,
we have grown fond of hearing the two
handsome angels of your memory
assuring us that you will come back to us,
one day soon, in like manner.
[GOD BLESS YOU BROTHERS,. GODSPEED IN THE PRIESTHOOD. YOU WILL BE MISSED. THANKS FOR BLESSING US FOR THE SHORT TIME WE SPENT WITH YOU]
----Acts 1:6-12
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.

The Latter Rains Of Taylor Swift #wcw #TaylorDateTony
* Jesus pray for me
#TaylorDateTony #wcw
+----------------------The Latter Rains Of Taylor Swift
Taylor, I don’t want to perorate
for too long on the past, before I
was smitten with you, on
the persecution of my spirit by singleness
as a soulless, insensate peoples. Their
faces drained of color, they ran like
mighty men,
invading the once sovereign kingdom
of my heart, they leapt over mountains,
they were not cut down, they ran to
and fro in the city of my mind like a savage
army of ruthless anxieties riding chariots
of loneliess...they ran on the wall,
they climbed, brazenly, into the houses
of my self confidence and self esteem, they
entered at the windows of my romantic
hope like mad thieves with daggers
thirsting for the death of my prospects
of a glorious wedding - for my blood.
Before I gazed at your beauty, those salvific
blue eyes introducing invaluable golden
hair of a thousand years’ prophecy,
Blessed luscious lips like messengers
of proclamation for a Divine
Son of feminine Pop charm
born to set free my joy enslaved…
the ramparts of my marital yearning were
laid waste with catapults of rejection,
everytime I spoke with a girl of my intentions
to date or of my affection I heard
the footsteps of a strong people set in
battle array, plumes of warring dust
stinging my eyes, every one marching
in formation (they do not break ranks).
Seeking a soulmate had become for me
a day of darkness and gloominess,
a day of clouds and thick darkness.
But now, since your #1989 album came out
(buoyed by the release of your singles
#badblood, #shakeitoff, #style) I haven’t stopped
smiling. Behold, your duclet voice has been
to me like new wine and oil,
and, truly, I have been satisfied by it.
Oh Taylor, if only you would date me.
Then, the fig tree of your kiss and the vine
of us holding hands while walking
on the beach staring heavenward at the moon
would yield their strength, our romance
would make me whole,
a chosen nation no longer under cosmic judgement,
fighting off the emotional trauma of being
slaughtered by cruel invaders, finally
anticipating peace. I picture us dancing
together, you would whisper to me “Be
glad then, you children of Zion,
And rejoice in the Lord your God
For He has given you the former rain
faithfully, And He will cause the rain
(of amorous passion)
to come down for you— The former rain,
(of innocent dreaming) And the latter rain
(of my love for you) in
the first month.” The threshing floors
would be full of the
wheat of my eternal happiness,
of us sharing our lives together forever.
------------Joel 2:1-27
Blow the trumpet in Zion,
And sound an alarm in My holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble;
For the day of the Lord is coming,
For it is at hand:
A day of darkness and gloominess,
A day of clouds and thick darkness,
Like the morning clouds spread over the mountains.
A people come, great and strong,
The like of whom has never been;
Nor will there ever be any such after them,
Even for many successive generations.
A fire devours before them,
And behind them a flame burns;
The land is like the Garden of Eden before them,
And behind them a desolate wilderness;
Surely nothing shall escape them.
Their appearance is like the appearance of horses;
And like swift steeds, so they run.
With a noise like chariots
Over mountaintops they leap,
Like the noise of a flaming fire that devours the stubble,
Like a strong people set in battle array.
Before them the people writhe in pain;
All faces are drained of color.
They run like mighty men,
They climb the wall like men of war;
Every one marches in formation,
And they do not break ranks.
They do not push one another;
Every one marches in his own column.
Though they lunge between the weapons,
They are not cut down.
They run to and fro in the city,
They run on the wall;
They climb into the houses,
They enter at the windows like a thief.
The earth quakes before them,
The heavens tremble;
The sun and moon grow dark,
And the stars diminish their brightness.
The Lord gives voice before His army,
For His camp is very great;
For strong is the One who executes His word.
For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible;
Who can endure it?
A Call to Repentance
“Now, therefore,” says the Lord,
“Turn to Me with all your heart,
With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”
So rend your heart, and not your garments;
Return to the Lord your God,
For He is gracious and merciful,
Slow to anger, and of great kindness;
And He relents from doing harm.
Who knows if He will turn and relent,
And leave a blessing behind Him—
A grain offering and a drink offering
For the Lord your God?
Blow the trumpet in Zion,
Consecrate a fast,
Call a sacred assembly;
Gather the people,
Sanctify the congregation,
Assemble the elders,
Gather the children and nursing babes;
Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber,
And the bride from her dressing room.
Let the priests, who minister to the Lord,
Weep between the porch and the altar;
Let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord,
And do not give Your heritage to reproach,
That the nations should rule over them.
Why should they say among the peoples,
‘Where is their God?’”
The Land Refreshed
Then the Lord will be zealous for His land,
And pity His people.
The Lord will answer and say to His people,
“Behold, I will send you grain and new wine and oil,
And you will be satisfied by them;
I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations.
“But I will remove far from you the northern army,
And will drive him away into a barren and desolate land,
With his face toward the eastern sea
And his back toward the western sea;
His stench will come up,
And his foul odor will rise,
Because he has done monstrous things.”
Fear not, O land;
Be glad and rejoice,
For the Lord has done marvelous things!
Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field;
For the open pastures are springing up,
And the tree bears its fruit;
The fig tree and the vine yield their strength.
Be glad then, you children of Zion,
And rejoice in the Lord your God;
For He has given you the former rain faithfully,
And He will cause the rain to come down for you—
The former rain,
And the latter rain in the first month.
The threshing floors shall be full of wheat,
And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.
“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,
The crawling locust,
The consuming locust,
And the chewing locust,
My great army which I sent among you.
You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,
And praise the name of the Lord your God,
Who has dealt wondrously with you;
And My people shall never be put to shame.
Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:
I am the Lord your God
And there is no other.
My people shall never be put to shame

+----------------------The Latter Rains Of Taylor Swift
Taylor, I don’t want to perorate
for too long on the past, before I
was smitten with you, on
the persecution of my spirit by singleness
as a soulless, insensate peoples. Their
faces drained of color, they ran like
mighty men,
invading the once sovereign kingdom
of my heart, they leapt over mountains,
they were not cut down, they ran to
and fro in the city of my mind like a savage
army of ruthless anxieties riding chariots
of loneliess...they ran on the wall,
they climbed, brazenly, into the houses
of my self confidence and self esteem, they
entered at the windows of my romantic
hope like mad thieves with daggers
thirsting for the death of my prospects
of a glorious wedding - for my blood.
Before I gazed at your beauty, those salvific
blue eyes introducing invaluable golden
hair of a thousand years’ prophecy,
Blessed luscious lips like messengers
of proclamation for a Divine
Son of feminine Pop charm
born to set free my joy enslaved…
the ramparts of my marital yearning were
laid waste with catapults of rejection,
everytime I spoke with a girl of my intentions
to date or of my affection I heard
the footsteps of a strong people set in
battle array, plumes of warring dust
stinging my eyes, every one marching
in formation (they do not break ranks).
Seeking a soulmate had become for me
a day of darkness and gloominess,
a day of clouds and thick darkness.
But now, since your #1989 album came out
(buoyed by the release of your singles
#badblood, #shakeitoff, #style) I haven’t stopped
smiling. Behold, your duclet voice has been
to me like new wine and oil,
and, truly, I have been satisfied by it.
Oh Taylor, if only you would date me.
Then, the fig tree of your kiss and the vine
of us holding hands while walking
on the beach staring heavenward at the moon
would yield their strength, our romance
would make me whole,
a chosen nation no longer under cosmic judgement,
fighting off the emotional trauma of being
slaughtered by cruel invaders, finally
anticipating peace. I picture us dancing
together, you would whisper to me “Be
glad then, you children of Zion,
And rejoice in the Lord your God
For He has given you the former rain
faithfully, And He will cause the rain
(of amorous passion)
to come down for you— The former rain,
(of innocent dreaming) And the latter rain
(of my love for you) in
the first month.” The threshing floors
would be full of the
wheat of my eternal happiness,
of us sharing our lives together forever.
------------Joel 2:1-27
Blow the trumpet in Zion,
And sound an alarm in My holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble;
For the day of the Lord is coming,
For it is at hand:
A day of darkness and gloominess,
A day of clouds and thick darkness,
Like the morning clouds spread over the mountains.
A people come, great and strong,
The like of whom has never been;
Nor will there ever be any such after them,
Even for many successive generations.
A fire devours before them,
And behind them a flame burns;
The land is like the Garden of Eden before them,
And behind them a desolate wilderness;
Surely nothing shall escape them.
Their appearance is like the appearance of horses;
And like swift steeds, so they run.
With a noise like chariots
Over mountaintops they leap,
Like the noise of a flaming fire that devours the stubble,
Like a strong people set in battle array.
Before them the people writhe in pain;
All faces are drained of color.
They run like mighty men,
They climb the wall like men of war;
Every one marches in formation,
And they do not break ranks.
They do not push one another;
Every one marches in his own column.
Though they lunge between the weapons,
They are not cut down.
They run to and fro in the city,
They run on the wall;
They climb into the houses,
They enter at the windows like a thief.
The earth quakes before them,
The heavens tremble;
The sun and moon grow dark,
And the stars diminish their brightness.

#WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
+------That Sabbath; The Disciples' Reflections On The Day Jesus Let Them Pluck Ears Of Corn
We remember that day, the sun
effulgent, sacrosanct salubrious Sabbath,
when
our lives were seemingly distilled into rows
of stalks, all our hope: the soil
beneath our sandals, our
concerns and intransigent worrying
for tomorrows, for the liberation of Jerusalem,
washed away, almost magically, in
waves of buoyant grain.
When you spoke to us your very words
were shirred. Our hearts reached
out blindly for your promises as if
for husks that pledged
food to our longings like empty
stomachs, sweet and savory kernels
of solace while circumscribed
by oppressive predatory Roman rule –
those crows, wolves, dogs
of hegemonic pagan descent
seeking crops.
I guess the seedlings were planted
when we first met you as
the Gardener, the Farmer of souls
while fishing with our fathers.
You said to us then: follow me, forsaking
everything, even leaving the embrace
of your families behind; for
the sake of a harvest you led us
into grainfields of uncertainty that
we knew not.
So what is there left for us to do
now that youre gone?
except nurse this fire expectation
in our hearts? Henceforth at night
as we retire, as we close our eyes
and conjure dreams, we recall, and
continue to recall this day when
time stood still….and we blithely
disregarded the longstanding
suffocating strictures of the
Sadducees, the cynicism and doubt
that still threatens to devour us like worms.
It was a gloriously sunny
day, as previously stated, for you
let us abide in your Divine presence
without condemnation walking aimlessly,
plucking ears of corn with smiles
that stretched the lengths of our faces,
laughing as if ascending from this world
into the next. Sickles of exuberance
in our hands, sickles of everlasting
exuberance in our hands.
For the first time in our lives,
we finally felt free.
----------Matthew 12:1-8
At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat. But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day

Take Me To Mount Horeb #TaylorDateTony
* Jesus pray for me
* dedicated to Taylor Swift
#TaylorDateTony
HEY GUYS!!! WHEN I SAY TAY...YOU SAY TAY!!!
[ME: TAY
YOU: TAY!!!]
OH TAYTAY!!!! (Sorry #CalvinHarris)
+----------------Take Me To Mount Horeb
Taylor singleness terrifies me,
Jezebel,
that fearsome queen-
face dappled with gaudy mascara
uneven eyeliner and hideous
ostentatious orchid lipstick
that fails miserably in its efforts
to provide sufficient distraction
from her rotted brown teeth-
has placed threats of death on my
dating life,
the prophets of my once buoyant optimism
to find a mate and partake in a lavish
wedding already killed by sardonic
soldiers in her sinister army of statistics
wielding their pessimistic swords
of repeated romantic rejection, now
vowing to once and for all
kill my chances of finding a soulmate,
falling in love and marrying.
The prospect of this harrowing fate
has chased me to Beersheba,
sanctum of fond dreams, the last
civilized town of my pleasant memories,
when I had a girlfriend, my passion
for our happiness together
was like a fortified wall of protection
from despair
due to the joy of her hugs and kisses.
But look at me now, I am no better
than any desperate single person,
the ones who have since given up on happiness,
my ancestors who died nobly
and beg me to convalesce with them
to spare more suffering.
Oh baby, my famished heart is leaning
against the Broom Tree of melancholy pining
away, pleading masochistically
for its own perilous and weary demise.
I need you to be my angel with blonde
hair, your two blue eyes
cerulean crystals hewn from rock
deep inside Mount Horeb of my fantasizing,
God’s Mountain of Lovers’ Consummation,
your lips like a scone baked on hot stones,
your voice a jar of cool water. Wake
me up with proclamations of
your affection for me, tell me
that my journey towards jocundity
(of matrimony, of kids, of grandkids)
will be too long without your nourishment.
If I fall asleep in disbelief, wake me
up again Taylor, tell me to eat
the food of fantasia,
drink from the jar of your sweet solace
sent to me from God to
save me from my worst fears,
you carrying me in your arms along the way.
----1 Kings 19:1-8
When Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had put all the prophets to the sword, Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, ‘May the gods do this to me and more, if by this time tomorrow I have not made your life like the life of one of them!’ He was afraid and fled for his life. He came to Beersheba, a town of Judah, where he left his servant. He himself went on into the wilderness, a day’s journey, and sitting under a furze bush wished he were dead. ‘O Lord,’ he said ‘I have had enough. Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.’ Then he lay down and went to sleep. But an angel touched him and said, ‘Get up and eat.’ He looked round, and there at his head was a scone baked on hot stones, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again. But the angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him and said, ‘Get up and eat, or the journey will be too long for you.’ So he got up and ate and drank, and strengthened by that food he walked for forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God.
