+-----EmoRevelations Chapter 1: The Imprecatory Church; John's First Journal Entry While Exiled on Patmos

Patmos, because no one else
views Roman opulence lachrymosely,
(through that foreboding sepia filter
of all the stilled memories in our minds
of tragedies that we could have
prevented but didnt),
and no one else is willing to
dredge up doleful denouncements
against Caesar from spirits of dirt,
dust divinations in dire times, when
persecution of Christian converts
incites hilt lust in sharpened iron,
swords wielded by merciless marauding
armies salivating at prospects
of the innocent helplessly screaming.
When I close my eyes I see the
consciousness of oppressed peoples
as tabernacles in varying
states of decay, stellate
angels standing in their crumbling
clerestories ready to make firm
proclamations of
retribution for those responsible.
This pointed hatred, judicious anger,
manifests itself as a brazen man
clad in a golden girdle
with fire in his eyes and a wounded soul,
hairs white like wool,
determined to bring Salvation
to them by judging wicked oppressors,
this perfect love for the poor and
oppressed come in the flesh
burning everything in its divine path:
succeeded by a silhouette of sacred smoke.
Redemption, he tells me, begins by
seeing one’s own heart as one of seven
churches
in varying states of virtue and vice,
a candlestick flickering in the dark
of observation, blessed
and cursed by the ashes and soot of
its own good or bad behavior.
For once the heart is healed,
he assured me, the scrolls that enable
the rebirth of spirit can be opened
and read.
This formidable inner resolve will infuriate
the Caesars, as if opening seals of cataclysm
and chaos on Rome from unseen worlds,
as if throwing Emperor Domitian alive
in a burning lake of fire, his skin
melting off his bones,
slowly.

(To be continued….)

-----Revelation 1:11-20
Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

(Sorry A$AP Rocky!!!)

+-----The Gerasens (Me Of Little Faith)

Chanel, my heart is a wherry,
careening, in part, because the
weight of its stricken passengers is
unevenly distributed,
frenetic panic and fear of not finding a wife
has permeated
amongst the crew altering the balance
of the 12 men, 10 huddle together
on the side of intractable despair,
two defiantly hold out hope, Peter and
John, willing to chance rocky waters
for genuine romance: my tilted and wooden
wayfaring emotions barely floating
in the absence of love,
my dating life in danger of capsizing
without dry land of a stable relationship.
This notwithstanding, my other besetting
scourge of soul is the unwieldy
nature of fate, tempestuous and unpredictably
fierce winds of potential and actual rejection
rage and whirl waters in to waves,
they rise up 30 feet  in the air against
the feeble oars of my self confidence,
the push and pitch
of women repeatedly loathing my advances,
threatening to crash down on the boat,
I picture myself drowning
in the despair of it all, drowning
in the despair of it all!
Oh baby, if only my words could
stir you from sleeping (on me), I picture
you in the hull, your smooth lips
preserved and begging to be engaged
by my lips, your intoxicating almond skin
inviting gentle caresses by my trembling,
fearful hands. But all I can do
is scream. OH SAVE ME, SAVE
ME WITH YOUR EYES!!! Look at me
and tell me that Im yours and you are mine,
that we will be together
as you take me down paths of your sweet
Salvific Beauty – sent to me by God from
above. Oh you must have inherited
pure gracefulness from a Virgin Womb….but
I digress. I just want you to sit up and tell me
you love me forever,
trust me, I know myself, the tormenting
lovelorn
wind and waves inside of me would then be
stilled, even they would obey your
irresistible charm.
My sated heart would drift nonchalantly
on placid seas to the other side, I promise,
if you’d just kiss me.

-----Matthew 8:23-27
And when he entered into the boat, his disciples followed him:
And behold a great tempest arose in the sea, so that the boat was covered with waves, but he was asleep. And they came to him, and awaked him, saying: Lord, save us, we perish. And Jesus saith to them: Why are you fearful, O ye of little faith? Then rising up he commanded the winds, and the sea, and there came a great calm. But the men wondered, saying: What manner of man is this, for the winds and the sea obey him?

......And when he was come on the other side of the water, into the country of the Gerasens, there met him two that were possessed with devils, coming out of the sepulchres, exceeding fierce, so that none could pass by that way.

+-----Angel In My Prison

Taylor, loneliness has stretched
forth its hands to vex my heart,
a King without a conscience, murderer
of my will. I feel imprisoned, my
belief in true love shackled next to
self-loathing and self-pity like two brawny,
unfeeling
churlish guards without souls,
they snore emphatically, they don’t
shave their beards;
every night is a dank, dreary
dark night for me, whatever ploy I
attempt on my psyche for comfort
(for the maladies of repudiation from girls
Ive asked out throughout the years)
is useless against the piercing pain
of having no woman next to me,
I cant sleep,
these foreboding thoughts are
whiskers of drooling boorish men
rubbing against both shoulders
as I rot naked and ashamed behind
rusting iron bars of
romantic dejection with no candle of joy.
Oh wont you come? Wont you
come and set me free? Shine the light of your
beauty upon me, let me see your blue
eyes and blonde hair – the face of an angel.
A miracle sent to me from above.
Your kiss would be a vivifying spirit
smiting me to my feet unlocking the shackles
and chains, your charming voice
like loving encouragement to never give in
to melancholy: “Arise up quickly, gird thyself,
and bind on thy sandals, and cast thy garment
about thee,” I imagine you telling me
as if saying to the essence of my being
“Tony, I am so blessed to know you,
I never want to know life without you,
don’t let those other loser girls who hurt
you destroy your confidence.”
We would run together, you and I,
through the narrow putrid halls of bitter memory,
leaving the jail and the King’s
pronouncement of death behind us
forever. The Iron Gate that leads
to the city of our dating relationship,
would open of its own accord.

-----Acts 12:1-10
Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

+-----The Emo Bible Galatians Chapter 3 - The World According To Beasts; Paul's Speech To The Men Of Galatia

Men of Galatia, stand aghast at
the unabashed chaos and corruption
of our culture, progressively debased,
the stone walls of our morality
crumbling, stone dislodged
from stone, with each successive
visit to amphitheaters that
exhibit wild beasts devouring
disadvantaged men before crazed
crowds frothing at the mouth,
mostly demented.
The social burden that these
victims are someone else’s kith and kin
somewhere in the world
is not borne by anyone, this
notion long since dismissed from
free society’s collective conscience:
educated, sophisticated Roman
barbarians washed in public baths
and dressed in fine linen but still
sullied with savagery of soul.
We are clearly cursed with bodies of sin
and minds prone to proclivities of death…
who then can deliver us? Certainly
no work of our hands can render
recompense for what we have waylaid,
no charity can summon the lost echoes
of children seized from mothers or gaunt,
elderly “foreigners” bludgeoned with the blunt
end of a short sword blessed by Caesar’s
hegemonic arrogance
(which our tax money helped to advance). Our
altruistic utterances fail to make amends
for the lust in our hearts towards our
neighbor’s wife, for our adultery
and secrets of seduction harbored deep within.
No, the world we live in must be destroyed
and rebuilt in Spirit
my friends, your psychologies renewed
from within. Don’t be so foolish or bewitched
by philosophies that suggest the joy
and solace that herald your redemption
from wickedness come from works of
obedience to laws and standards I just proved
our fleshly passions continually violate.
No my friends, the cure to our anarchy
is the Grace of Jesus Christ freely and
undeservedly bestowed. Only faith
can destroy the old World Order, silencing our
inner blasphemous and perverse screaming
by announcing the New one:
that Day of Hope when we are truly human
once again.

(Our damnation nailed to the Cross.)

-----Galatians 3:1-15
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

Fire

#IamTheEarlyChurch

“…his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones.” – Jeremiah 20:9
“’Is not my word like fire,’ declares the LORD, ‘and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?’” – Jeremiah 23:29

+-----The Emo Bible Acts Chapter 2; Fire; Peter’s Thoughts Before the Descent Of The Holy Spirit

What do you when communal
abutted bodies aren’t enough? When
you stand shoulder to shoulder,
hand in hand, with your brothers
and sisters as bundled wood begging
for the stoking, begging for some
evidence of smoke,
but there is no heat
and your heart grows colder
amidst conversations meant to foster
encouragement, and your soul
has nothing left to give save some residual
soot of optimism from a past life
long forgotten since now every
discussion touched upon borders
on rancor? (Teeth chattering,
numb rigormortis of friends)
When you are supposed to speak
resurrection, marriage, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, romance,
salvation and children but instead rising
inside,
glacial air ascending to clouds,
a blizzard of unfeeling,
your words turn into ghosts’ speech
in guttural tones, hissing
utterances of the death adder:
dying, hatred, envy, disconsolation
and disbelief?
Oh if only warm winds
of inspiration would blow, a tempest
born of the torches of faith, hope,
and love come to thaw and melt!!!
Oh if the earth would shake!!! (We pray
for peals of thunder, we pray
for peals of thunder)
We would lift our eyes from
depths of our doldrums,
and stare at our smoldering irises.
Our very tongues would alight
and our breath would smell
of blessed cinder freshly kindled.
We would walk,
and from our toenails ash and embers
would flake off with every elated step
towards the Utopian ideals we
lost when Jesus died. The memories
of us, the worst of us thrown into
conflagration of this new resolve,
would blaze behind us,
seared by the increasing warmth of
better tomorrows, David holding the
head of Goliath in his hands,
the hushed silence of the once
mocking and decrying Philistines
humiliatingly sustained. I can see it
now, these great liberating balls of flames
falling from the sky, all of us
jubilantly exclaiming
in unison in one room,
talking in every language known
to man boasting of the Good News
received as revelation
(Jews speaking as Parthians,
and Medes and Elamites):
THE END OF THE EMPIRE
THAT CRUCIFIES ITS CITIZENS IN THE COLD!
Rome is burning
Rome is burning
Rome is burning

(Finally)

-----Acts 2:1-21
And when the days of the Pentecost were accomplished, they were all together in one place: And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a mighty wind coming, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them parted tongues as it were of fire, and it sat upon every one of them: And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they began to speak with divers tongues, according as the Holy Ghost gave them to speak. Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem, Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. And when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded in mind, because that every man heard them speak in his own tongue. And they were all amazed, and wondered, saying: Behold, are not all these, that speak, Galileans? And how have we heard, every man our own tongue wherein we were born? Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and inhabitants of Mesopotamia, Judea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia, and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews also, and proselytes, Cretes, and Arabians: we have heard them speak in our own tongues the wonderful works of God. And they were all astonished, and wondered, saying one to another: What meaneth this? But others mocking, said: These men are full of new wine. But Peter standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke to them: Ye men of Judea, and all you that dwell in Jerusalem, be this known to you, and with your ears receive my words. For these are not drunk, as you suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day: But this is that which was spoken of by the prophet Joel: And it shall come to pass, in the last days, (saith the Lord,) I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. And upon my servants indeed, and upon my handmaids will I pour out in those days of my spirit, and they shall prophesy. And I will shew wonders in the heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath: blood and fire, and vapour of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and manifest day of the Lord come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.

The Return Of The King

* Jesus pray for me
* Jesus forgive me

+-----The Emo Bible Luke Chapter 23: The Return Of The King; Jesus' Prayer to His Father On The Cross

My eyes are no good, the blood
pooling from my forehead
sluices down into them
cleaving to the side contours of the ridge
of my nose, induced by
my unceremonious
briar and thistle coronation,
my robe and sandals bartered,
my body stripped bare
lacerated by whips,
shins and fingernails of infantry
hardened of soul, callous
rage of Caesar.  The sensitives
of my shivering body are heightened
now,
I can hear lucent prophecies
in the wind, the uneven pitch of
renowned dead poets
whispering senseless savageries
foretold long ago, that the sins of Adam
would fuel the hatred that drives
rusty nails through my hands
and feet, the skin on my back knocking
against wood in the tempests. Ironically
the crowds beneath me,
people of my own flesh, lineage,
scoff and jeer at my nakedness
more boisterously than the Greeks
and Romans. The worst of them
stare at the best of me,
so that the best in them can be
borne out by my worst pain (I hope).
And I do not have all the answers
from my perch here, hoisted
high in frigid air as ravens and
vultures encircle, biding their time
before Death’s final nod beneath
darkened clouds grants them the
permission they have long sought-
to eulogize me with violent bird song,
a dirge of claws and beaks piercing
my limp limbs. I cannot presume
to know why the very people
I came to save take pride in slaughter
of the innocent, a recurrent tyranny
in this fallen world it seems,
the spotless lamb devoured
by nomadic vicious beasts, but the
hope is my legacy, when considered
carefully, will ultimately change this
world for the better. That long after
I’m gone, Father, you can forgive
them, because Im sure,
deep down, they know not what
they do. They know not that
blood and water of my compassion
will pour out when lanced.

-----Luke 23:33-38
And when they were come to the place which is called Calvary, they crucified him there; and the robbers, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. And Jesus said: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. But they, dividing his garments, cast lots. And the people stood beholding, and the rulers with them derided him, saying: He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the elect of God. And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar, And saying: If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself. And there was also a superscription written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Behold, saith he, fire and wood: where is the victim for the holocaust?

+-----The Emo Bible - Genesis Chapter 22 - Isaac's Last Stand (The Memoirs of a Sacrificial Son); Isaac's Thoughts Ascending The Mountain Carrying Wood (The Plan of Salvation Part 1)

In times like this I wonder,
(jagged wood pressing and rubbing
against my skin)
how deeply human memory
seeps into cinder,
how much of the burnt ash of me
would be venerated years later, long
after my obsequious soul rejoiced in
sharing its essence with vapor,
its new existential permanence, as the
arc and curve of my smoke, my incense,
speaks to my mother and father in hues
of black and grey,
my flesh making its last attempts
to contact kin from the world beyond.
I wonder too, afterwards, if Dad
will be too overcome with hysteria,
if in crazed frenetic panic,
adlibbing pious madness and mourning
in parallel,
that he will forget douse the fire of me,
if on his way down this somber
slope he will slide and come near to
slipping from a ledge. I hope not. I hope
he is too daedal for that,
angst of Abimelech and
corresponding anger of my Mom. Or
maybe, even, this day is fated, catalyzed
by some cosmic reciprocal wrath,
that amidst my screaming a syzygy
will arrest the sky
momentarily draping my family in
darkness to convict them their flawed
ways, rage of Ishmael,
or perhaps even the indignant
ghosts of Sodom making their presence
known?
As a child I was touted to those
around me as positive proof of God’s
promise, angelic blessing fleshed
and birthed from a closed womb
against improbable odds. Who knows?
Maybe all along God’s cryptic promise
to benefit the world through me
was that someone’s *Chosen, lionized,
son would end up dying
a baseless, cruelly confusing, senseless
and benighted death.

-----Genesis 22:1-14
After these things, God tempted Abraham, and said to him: Abraham, Abraham. And he answered: Here I am. He said to him: Take thy only begotten son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and go into the land of vision: and there thou shalt offer him for an holocaust upon one of the mountains which I will shew thee. So Abraham rising up in the night, saddled his ass: and took with him two young men, and Isaac his son: and when he had cut wood for the holocaust he went his way to the place which God had commanded him. And on the third day, lifting up his eyes, he saw the place afar off. And he said to his young men: Stay you here with the ass: I and the boy will go with speed as far as yonder, and after we have worshipped, will return to you. And he took the wood for the holocaust, and laid it upon Isaac his son: and he himself carried in his hands fire and a sword. And as they two went on together, Isaac said to his father: My father. And he answered: What wilt thou, son? Behold, saith he, fire and wood: where is the victim for the holocaust? And Abraham said: God will provide himself a victim for an holocaust, my son. So they went on together. And they came to the place which God had shewn him, where he built an altar, and laid the wood in order upon it: and when he had bound Isaac his son, he laid him on the altar upon the pile of wood. And he put forth his hand and took the sword, to sacrifice his son. And behold an angel of the Lord from heaven called to him, saying: Abraham, Abraham. And he answered: Here I am. And he said to him: Lay not thy hand upon the boy, neither do thou any thing to him: now I know that thou fearest God, and hast not spared thy only begotten son for my sake. Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw behind his back a ram amongst the briers sticking fast by the horns, which he took and offered for a holocaust instead of his son. And he called the name of that place, The Lord seeth. Whereupon even to this day it is said: In the mountain the Lord will see.
