When Doves (Really) Cry

-----------/When Doves Cry; Jesus' Thoughts Upon Seeing The Empty Temple Area At Night (The Tables Set Up For Bartering, Unattended Cages of Doves Cooing, Signs Designating Currency Exchange Rates and Hours Of Operation, Etc)

Its hard to imagine that so much time has passed
how much has changed
when
seemingly only a few moments have elapsed
when darkness reigned
and nothingness – but the spirit hovering over waters
and with wisdom man nothing yet but a conception
and Israel chosen as a privilege
(a beacon of hope on earth brought forth)
and in a moment floods in wrath destroyed rebellion
a dove charged with conditional emancipation
to share of any good news spoken throughout the land
the olive branch was proof of her loyalty
(and of new beginnings realized)
honoring her promise, setting her free
a legacy cemented in heaven’s lore with true symbolism....dependable
innocent, gentle, pure, lovely....
and since....a temple was built, sacrificial ordinances instituted
for us Jewish people
to atone for our wrongs in this world and enable peace
with a Creator full of great expectations
and war upon war evidenced His dexterity in battle
foe upon felled foe substantiated Jacob’s preeminence
and choice provisions of the land bequeathed
without any trite currency, or swindling,
or bargaining, only love and grace undeservedly
but happily bestowed
before a second temple was built and intimacy
between God and Israel fostered again
tonight
the moon pours forth creamy milk streams of lambent light
casting tall silhouettes before those who have come to
pay respects for the annals of a people forever pressed
but never crushed
in silence, and solemn but joyous tears….for all those
recently passed and those only entrusted to memory
like Noah, like Moses, like Jonah, like Isaac
and for the plight of all of us still alive yet essentially squelched
under a pagan oligarchy sympathetic yet blasé
to the importance of true worship;
yet harsh and cruel, and petulant in tax season
but in its wake, past the shadows it reveals mangled and anguished shrills
from doves trapped in cages, cords around their beaks
with sullen eyes
doleful about what our people have become, and the inability
like their ancestors, to witness a righteous people set apart
or exude any admirable qualities full of dignity, not filth and squalor
not innocent but guilty, not gentle but jaded and cynical, impure, unlovely
....loose change littered across the floor
worn signs directing traffic to a menagerie of wicked services
treacherously serving a god of mammon
provided to a nation who has truly lost their way
and truly succumbed to mental tyranny
and literally unable to esteem any higher power
other than themselves

And all I can do is just sit for a moment
wistful
for a brief jaunt back on the Ark
just to hold the olive branch that once brought promise
now turned into decadence

---------------Mark 11:11-17
Then he entered Jerusalem and went into the temple; and when he had looked around at everything, as it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve. On the following day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see whether perhaps he would find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. He said to it, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." And his disciples heard it. Then they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling and those who were buying in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves; and he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. He was teaching and saying, "Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations'? But you have made it a den of robbers."

Life's Treason, Death's Patriotism, Death's Treason, Life's Patriotism

Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison

-----------------------------/Acts Chronicles Chapter 12: Life's Treason, Death's Patriotism, Death's Treason, Life's Patriotism (In Prison Darkness) - The Thoughts Of Peter Before He Fell Asleep In Prison Next To Two Soldiers

Everyone , at some point I believe
has pined for a premature death in some sense
when life just seems to overwhelm
dying a shelter from antagonistic forces of calamity
emotional travail
familial strife, economic dearth
supposing at the terminus of one’s beating heart one is greeted
with instantaneous halcyon and a pair of wings
to fly away
and enjoy bliss, joyously naïve to a pained past
leisurely dipping a finger in cool streams of eternal youth
thoughtlessly braiding a lion’s hair, warmed by eternal shining Sun
Eden reclaimed, land of the free
but in truth, the very real experience of impending death
has none of these expected accompanying consolations
but only dread
and all you can do is keep your eyes fastened to the ground
so as not arouse the disdain of the guard surrounding you
by meeting eyes
(no more swollen eyes, or teeth dislodged from hardened fists
and feet)
and if offered just an hour back in the most wretched, excruciating
situation you would have erstwhile died to escape
you would without question accept graciously the opportunity
just to rid yourself of the constant, unrelenting foreboding
outstanding sins to make amends for
words never spoken to friends
kisses never bestowed on the very people who never hesitated
to shower them on you
a thrice epic display of betrayal that still stings
I do not know what you are saying
I do not know the Man!
"Surely you also are one of them, for your speech betrays you" -
I do not know the Man!
and you would prefer whips to your back
to the echoes of your own voice that night that ring in your ears….
WHEN ALL YOU WANT TO DO NOW IS LIVE!
and not be stuck in some dungeon awaiting a public, transparent
shameful death before you had time to right your wrongs
because when you stand before the Angel of Death
it isn’t necessarily his methodology that you fear –
you fear yourself a monster
wondering what words he will speak, and what reputation you will carry
to the next life
after your relatives carry your body
across places now filled with your regret

-------------Acts 12:5-8
Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, "Arise quickly!" And his chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, "Gird yourself and tie on your sandals"; and so he did. And he said to him, "Put on your garment and follow me."

You've Got Wheels

*dedicated to anyone who feels like giving up; just close your eyes like my man Ezekiel did and see the vision, yo. Chase your destiny from now on without ever turning. Always face straightforward, never stop pursuing your dreams, ya hurd me?

As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches going back and forth among the living creatures. The fire was bright, and out of the fire went lightning. And the living creatures ran back and forth, in appearance like a flash of lightning.

------------------------------/Visions Of Prophets –Ezekiel Ch1 – Wheels; You Are Unflappable

Close your eyes, I know you have wings
to fly above mediocrity, to soar, to win so that you never lose - ever
[the River Chebar is where you first conceived your destiny
though all around you were held captive by their own apprehensions
and uncertainty]
(four of them) and four faces
because you reason soundly like a man, attacking your adversities
like a lion
fierce, unrelenting savage
with the indomitable strength of an ox, longsuffering prosperity and
like an eagle you are a perennial visionary
pursuing the loftiest goals deeming none of them impossible
or too high
and there is this indescribable fire inside of you
bright
burning coals of desire that will not be snuffed
your dreams in your heart forever smoldering
and you will never allow doubt thrown your way to linger
because when anyone dares to cast aspersions on your aspirations
or scoff. jeering at your ambition, threatening to ensnare your confidence
you spryly move back and forth, never turning to the side
no matter which direction you chose;
impervious to distractions always looking towards the prize,
your wit and your resolve
outpacing their intentions as the first strike of lightning outpaces
the first drops of rain in a storm
flashing luminously behind dark clouds of your secret intent
and you intuitively know, deep within that even if you should weary
or entertain thoughts of turning back
of coming to on the river banks of trial and testing
and on the precipice of fulfilling your destiny
losing the vision
always besides you in the color of beryl-
a set of the best wheels to go with you, wheels in the middle of wheels
for carrying the fortitude within the fortitude in your soul
with high, awesome rims full of eyes
always looking
because the path you tread will always have opportunities for new growth
and wherever you go the wheels go
and wherever there is joy, the wheels go for therein lies your spirit
so that your plans for life are always in constant motion
never sedentary, never stagnant
until you wait for the next goal
briefly putting down your wings to stand
victoriously

(always)

-----------------------
Now as I looked at the living creatures, behold, a wheel was on the earth beside each living creature with its four faces. The appearance of the wheels and their workings was like the color of beryl, and all four had the same likeness. The appearance of their workings was, as it were, a wheel in the middle of a wheel. When they moved, they went toward any one of four directions; they did not turn aside when they went. As for their rims, they were so high they were awesome; and their rims were full of eyes, all around the four of them. Wherever the spirit wanted to go, they went, because there the spirit went; and the wheels were lifted together with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. When those went, these went; when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up together with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.

---------------------Wunderkind: Jesus' Words To The Temple Teachers

The nighttime breezes carry anecdotes of Perseus
and winds whisper of the Gorgon with snaked hair
and the gales from storms foist glorification of Hesperides
as panacea for all ills
inspiration while enduring insufferable dark
for a Jewish nation oppressed and dictated to by Rome
where even a temple tax is levied
payed to the Emperor
as it citizens take cover under rains of despair
while stories of Moses and Joshua and Samson
slowly dissipate under the vise grip of anxiety that
Stately Jerusalem has been forever lost, and in school
while we children play a noticeable somberness enfolds
our teachers
as though they were unaware of the signs
of the times of the historical significance of the preconditions
for the dawning of a new era
and in the temples do they not know?
that the blood of Abel poured from my veins
that Isaac's birth was my birth and Abraham a metaphor
for my Father offering me, using a knife
as substitute for sins of this world?
I was every lamb, goat, pigeon, dove slaughtered
I was Joseph rejected by my brothers, I was Melchizedek
before the old covenant of more noble lineage and prestige
and I was Noah's Ark that saved
also the Manna in the desert, the Rock in the wilderness
the Brass Serpent
surveying a land full of death, anger and bitterness
begging the sick to simply take notice
and my Law was Samson, strong when honored, weak when betrayed
that this very calamity, falling flat in the dust wedged
between the sandals of Caesar and the prayer for either death
or a Savior
raises worldwide awareness of Golgotha, makes pagan nations
more aware
of Gethsemane, as news of me spreads in a civilized world united
in common language and currency?
a real hero is not one who kills for restoration of hedonistic gains
nor is Medusa the real enemy
there is no greater love than for a man to die for his friends
saving them from themselves
for the real enemy lies within

and a subjugated nation can only rise
(from the ashes of One Man's grueling sacrfice)
when all its subjects lock hand in hand
and bow before its True King

(in Perpetual Sunshine
with no misguided gusts to listen to)

(The One God – My Father)

------------------Luke 2:41-47
His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast. When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother did not know it; but supposing Him to have been in the company, they went a day’s journey, and sought Him among their relatives and acquaintances. So when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him. Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers.

Lovely Consolation

--------------------/1 Kings and Things Chapter 1 (Part 2) (Twilight) Lovely Consolation: The Thoughts Of King David Very Advanced In Years

When you become king, (well
a good king rather, with every honest intention
to benefit the land by your service in office)
the lure of wealth, the love of various women
the power you wield, even in the most miniscule matters
whether the trading price of wheat
or the market value of oxen
the availability of means to exact vengeance
on your foes absolutely
that gives you a slight case of hubris and hegemony
don't compel you to rise each morning ten minutes
(incredibly and exactly ten minutes for almost forty years!)
before the cock’s crow
and place the crown on your head
hastily grabbing the royal scepter and with pride
basically bestride the throne
anxiously awaiting news from your generals, prophets,
and treasurer
though all of these are perks (though some made for purely
militaristic or economic reasons)
it is the ideal form of truth, virtue and ultimately worldwide accord
under One God
that catalyzes every breath you take, and every enemy you enchain
and paints the vision daily, monthly, yearly on the canvas of your mind
it is the refuge from a decidedly laborious day
the companion that lights your bedside candle at night
and whilst you sleep leans over your body and snuffs it out
yet as you age, limitations begin to obfuscate everything
that was at one time plainly lucid
your flesh weighs heavily on your bones impeding your spry gait
preventing you from accompanying your soldiers in battle
diminishing, ever so slightly your commanding, brawny ethos
amongst your subjects, and invalidating to a certain degree
your field acumen and grasp on conquests - sadly
calling into question your fitness for duty
and it stupefies your mind, binding your logic making you incoherent
with inchoate ideas before the royal court
it begins clouding your vision, so that you cant distinguish shadow
from person
and muffles the sound of voices in your ears
of the very advisors who once stood in awe of your mind
profuse in their commendations of your market and penal intellect
who now stand in silent pity at your pitiable state
unable to wryly and ingeniously outwit
the hawks who insidiously want to swindle Israel
into running a trade deficit, thus imperiling our power
from within
or judge wisely between two people in a conspicuously easy case
and once you’ve lost that ideal, that necessary ruling aesthetic
that comforts you
or rather, the ability to actualize it, or see it come to pass
its hard to get up early anymore
or be enthusiastic for the throne you now realize
is a bit uncomfortable, and uneven at the left armrest
....what I mean to say is
when the end is near you feel as if you've lost a paramour
the one who once lay so faithfully beside you and gave you dignity
abandons you as though your whole relation was just a tryst
and the night is always cold
and the days are always too long
and all you want is to be warmed

(by thoughts reassuring you that you will always be and always were a good king)

--------------1 Kings 1:1-4
When King David was very old, he could not keep warm even when they put covers over him. So his attendants said to him, "Let us look for a young virgin to serve the king and take care of him. She can lie beside him so that our lord the king may keep warm." Then they searched throughout Israel for a beautiful young woman and found Abishag, a Shunammite, and brought her to the king. The woman was very beautiful
