The Good Sabbath

----------------[Reaching for a Revolution /Jesus' Thoughts As He Healed The Man With A Withered Hand]

The world is filled with men of hard hearts
and those who have unfortunate hearts, mired in sorrow
and it troubles you
and sometimes you wake up in the morning and just stand under the sun
trying to garner enough strength to withstand
hoping your emotions will be robust
and you can manage keeping your composure while looking
into another mother’s eyes who just lost her son
or a father coping with his son’s demon possession he abates
by deluding himself into believing
there are no demons: its merely bouts of delirium
tossing him into fire and water
while hideous men disguised in Rabbi’s clothing sneer
and blame
and remain indifferent when Moses told them to offer solace
and their hypocrisy is like a fire of vengeance burning your soul
you cant sit still unless you hear their screams in hell
weeping and gnashing their teeth
but ultimately all these things keep you up at night worried
perplexed because the world you came to save finds authentic love
incomprehensible
and it kills me
and I wish I could make it stop
and cure all the worlds ills
with a mere phrase or platitude that instantaneously
eradicated all insecurity, envy and doubt
I wish I could say Its going to be okay,
trust me
reach out your hand and let me help you

(together we can make this work)

----------------Luke 6:6-11
And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered. And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him. But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth. Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it? And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other. And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
