I Am Just Dirty Water Without Sarah Palin

Me and Sarah Palin: Going RO-mantic!

----------------------------[Life Stinks Without You, Sarah Palin; You are My Elisha]

Sarah,
Tony Conti is a foul smelling stench discharged
from vital springs (hope)
in an otherwise well situated Jericho (my heart)
but the citizens therein fancy nihilism and migrating to Bethel
because there is nothing to drink
and the livestock are gaunt
and there is no more romance, nothing to uplift
nothing to recalibrate their minds focused on impending death
and my heart is empty without you

But you are sooooo amazing, baby
you are my prophet with a double portion, and I need you so bad
you came from the Jordan with a (fashionable!) cloak of optimism
and promise
with intentions on fulfilling the Lord’s work (loving me in return)
all I need is a bowl of your compassion
filled with salt of our first kiss, our first dance, first night on the town
poured liberally, giving me hope
so I can swoon before you humbly as you proclaim:
"I have healed this water"

With you by my side my joy will never be unproductive
I will never stink
together we can accomplish anything together
as Jericho flourishes around us, full of vitality
don’t ever leave me, Sarah. I swear I would die without you
country first
love first

(Make me your first dude!)

-------------------------
2 Kings 2:19-21
The men of the city said to Elisha, "Look, our lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive." "Bring me a new bowl," he said, "and put salt in it." So they brought it to him. Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, "This is what the LORD says: 'I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.' " And the water has remained wholesome to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken.

The Good Sabbath

----------------[Reaching for a Revolution /Jesus' Thoughts As He Healed The Man With A Withered Hand]

The world is filled with men of hard hearts
and those who have unfortunate hearts, mired in sorrow
and it troubles you
and sometimes you wake up in the morning and just stand under the sun
trying to garner enough strength to withstand
hoping your emotions will be robust
and you can manage keeping your composure while looking
into another mother’s eyes who just lost her son
or a father coping with his son’s demon possession he abates
by deluding himself into believing
there are no demons: its merely bouts of delirium
tossing him into fire and water
while hideous men disguised in Rabbi’s clothing sneer
and blame
and remain indifferent when Moses told them to offer solace
and their hypocrisy is like a fire of vengeance burning your soul
you cant sit still unless you hear their screams in hell
weeping and gnashing their teeth
but ultimately all these things keep you up at night worried
perplexed because the world you came to save finds authentic love
incomprehensible
and it kills me
and I wish I could make it stop
and cure all the worlds ills
with a mere phrase or platitude that instantaneously
eradicated all insecurity, envy and doubt
I wish I could say Its going to be okay,
trust me
reach out your hand and let me help you

(together we can make this work)

----------------Luke 6:6-11
And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered. And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him. But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth. Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it? And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other. And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

Putrid

---------------------[The Stove/ The Thoughts Of Ezekiel As He Baked the Barley Cakes]

Back in Jerusalem they used to tell me stories
(merrily)
of David dancing
[*Ezekiel throws another piece of wood under the stove*]
and how ignoble and irascible the Philistines were
...until the thunderous collapse of Goliath
of Samuel and Saul's shared contempt; and David's perfunctory evasion
of the spear thrown at his head
musing on Solomon and his bevy of women
their tacky idols in our pristine temple
but now
there is no more dancing, or jest or de facto historian
Babylon has come, and soon will return
some people grieve, most are inexorable
their sins persist oblivious that the moon
scowls at us at night, turns red
and that behind the tabernacle God surreptitiously sneaks away
the overbearing sun mocks us and that birds fly by
too ashamed to perch nearby
wolves encompass us, stayed only by our captor’s spears
for this I weep routinely
Intermingling my tears with
wheat, and barley,
and beans, and lentiles,
and millet...
as the wind carries the rising smoke towards Jerusalem
we barely have enough to eat here...
but I toss cow's dung upon cow's dung with my cake
to underscore my bitter disgust
at my people/ at my fate
(as the pungent smell continually stings my eyes)

----------------------------
Ezekiel 4:9-17
Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof. And thy meat which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it. Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from time to time shalt thou drink. And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight. And the LORD said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, whither I will drive them. Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth. Then he said unto me, Lo, I have given thee cow's dung for man's dung, and thou shalt prepare thy bread therewith. Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment: That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.

A Lachrymose Paradise Lost

* Dedicated to Sarah McLachlan, "Adia"

--------------------------------[A Lachrymose Paradise Lost/ Adam’s Dying Words to Eve]

Before you came, the ground was good
grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind
and trees yielding fruit, their seeds within
nameless animals: identities and personalities yet to be formed
this was all of creation; yet
my heart beating with angst inside of me
(days and nights pensive. Reaching for the moon, during the day
stolidly dipping my hand in the Pison river as little fish
swam in between my fingers)
unable to sleep, restless yet exceedingly weary
picking flowers and laying them on my chest hoping my melancholy
would end soon

When I awoke,
I was still dazed after God brought you to me
In an instant a new destiny stood before me,
and erased previous pained memories without you
and I stood erect for the first time, and for the first time
a full smile (from ear to ear)

You were my poison
even before the fruit we partook
because deep within I started dying when I first held your hand
I lost my equanimity
I lost my will to continue the existence bestowed on me
except you stand by my side
I was oblivious to the snake’s lies because
portentous truisms invaded my mind such as no animal
no plant can survive after losing the will to live alone
my love for you was not self sustaining
not strong enough

You died when you bit the fruit
out of curiousity. so I bit the fruit
because I cant fathom you not near me
even in the grave

Eve, mother of all living
my wife, my only love
I just want you to know why I bit the fruit too...
and Im sorry for blaming you;
I am the one to blame
(not the serpent’s craft)
I was content to lose Eden
because at some point I realized you were my Paradise
even if I lost everything else

Genesis 3
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?" The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' " "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?" He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid." And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?" The man said, "The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it." Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?"
The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."
So the LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this,
"Cursed are you above all the livestock
and all the wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
and you will eat dust
all the days of your life.
And I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring [a] and hers;
he will crush [b] your head,
and you will strike his heel."
To the woman he said,
"I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing;
with pain you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband,
and he will rule over you."
To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I
commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,'
"Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat of it
all the days of your life.
It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.
By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return."
Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.
The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

Sarah McLachlan "Adia" Lyrics

Adia I do believe I failed you
Adia I know I'vd let you down
don't you know I tried so hard
to love you in my way
it's easy let it go...

Adia I'm empty since you left me
trying to find a way to carry on
I search myself and everyone
to see where we went wrong

there's no one left to finger
there's no one here to blame
there's no one left to talk to, honey
and there ain't no one to buy our innocence
'cause we are born innocent
believe me Adia, we are still innocent
it's easy, we all FALTER
but does it matter?

Adia I thought that we could make it
I know I can't change the way you feel
I leave you with your misery
a friend who won't betray
pull you from your tower
take away your pain
show you all the beauty you possess
if you'd only let yourself believe that
we are born innocent
believe me Adia, we are still innocent
it's easy, we all FALTER,
but does it matter?

Ba ba ba ba bada ba da ba da ba...

'cause we are born innocent
believe me Adia
we are still innocent
it's easy, we all FALTER,
but does it matter?

believe me Adia
we are still innocent
'cause we are born innocent
Believe me Adia
we are still
it's easy, we all FALTER,
but does it matter?

Sarah McLachlan Tribute

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhPKUIKvP8A

Before you read my next poem, (Dont worry Calista, I havent forgotten about you!) I gotta give it up to Sarah McLachlan, one of my greatest inspirations in writing. I love this song...it helped me write the words of the forthcoming poem you see below. Click the link above to hear the song.

She has a great voice and is a great lyricist, ya heard? One of the most insightful, contemplative and creative artists ever!

Sarah McLachlan "Lost"

By the shadows of the night I go
I moved away from the crowded room
That sea of shallow faces masked in warm regret
They don't know how to feel, they don't know what is lost

Lost in the darkness of a land
Where all the hope that's offered is
Memories of being taken by the hand
And we are led into the sun
But I don't have a hold on what is real
Though we can only try
What is there to give or to believe

I want it all to go away I want to be alone
Sympathy's wasted on my hollow shell
I feel there's nothing left to fight for
No reason for a cause
And I can't hear your voice and I can't feel you near

Lost in the darkness of a land
Where all the hope that's offered is
Memories of being taken by the hand
And we are led into the sun
But I don't have a hold on what is real
Though we can only try
What is there to give or to believe

I wanted a change knowing all I could do was try
I was looking for someone...

Babylon Is Lost Without You, Calista

* Dedicated to Sarah McLachlan, "Lost"

A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the rings of his nobles, so that Daniel's situation might not be changed. Then the king returned to his palace and spent the night without eating and without any entertainment being brought to him. And he could not sleep. [Daniel 6:17-18]

-----[Calista Flockhart, Babylon Isnt the Same Without You Near/ King Darius' Nightmares]

Calista,
Life is vapid without you
the pillows hard, the covers knotty
the air fusy
and I cant find rest or bring myself to snuff out my candle
until I see your face again

You are my heart's administrator
magnate of the 120 reasons I fell for you
(I have yet to rise)
and I was wrong, I was myopic to force you to bow down
to my idea of a perfect union of our lives
you are a strong, independent woman
with her own God (preferences) honored 3 times each day
and I shouldn't have tried to prevent you
from your desire
from what brings you joy...and gives you an identity.
my selfishness has issued an edict I so dearly wish
I could retract
(please believe me)

I have thrown you to the lions
their teeth are the dissolution of our love
long tails with fuzzy tips, the bittersweet memories
of a life lived with you beside me prematurely snatched away
their dark piercing eyes are the grim prophecies of the future
I fear to look into if I cant hold you at night
their growlings ARE MY FRANTIC SCREAMS SOAKED IN SWEAT because
if you leave I will be inconsolable
and all I can imagine is your blood dripping from their mouths

Calista, please, if you'd just forgive me
at the first light of dawn I'll come running back to you
and pull you out of my mess personally
pull you back into my arms

(PLEASE, JUST COME BACK TO ME BABY...I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. Babylon Is Lost Without You Near)

Daniel 6
It pleased Darius to appoint 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom, with three administrators over them, one of whom was Daniel. The satraps were made accountable to them so that the king might not suffer loss. Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent. Finally these men said, "We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God." So the administrators and the satraps went as a group to the king and said: "O King Darius, live forever! The royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers and governors have all agreed that the king should issue an edict and enforce the decree that anyone who prays to any god or man during the next thirty days, except to you, O king, shall be thrown into the lions' den. Now, O king, issue the decree and put it in writing so that it cannot be altered—in accordance with the laws of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed." So King Darius put the decree in writing. Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before. Then these men went as a group and found Daniel praying and asking God for help. So they went to the king and spoke to him about his royal decree: "Did you not publish a decree that during the next thirty days anyone who prays to any god or man except to you, O king, would be thrown into the lions' den?" The king answered, "The decree stands—in accordance with the laws of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed." Then they said to the king, "Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you, O king, or to the decree you put in writing. He still prays three times a day." When the king heard this, he was greatly distressed; he was determined to rescue Daniel and made every effort until sundown to save him. Then the men went as a group to the king and said to him, "Remember, O king, that according to the law of the Medes and Persians no decree or edict that the king issues can be changed." So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions' den. The king said to Daniel, "May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!" A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the rings of his nobles, so that Daniel's situation might not be changed. Then the king returned to his palace and spent the night without eating and without any entertainment being brought to him. And he could not sleep. At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lions' den. When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?" Daniel answered, "O king, live forever! My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king." The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. At the king's command, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought in and thrown into the lions' den, along with their wives and children. And before they reached the floor of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones. Then King Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations and men of every language throughout the land:
"May you prosper greatly!
"I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and
reverence the God of Daniel.
"For he is the living God
and he endures forever;
his kingdom will not be destroyed,
his dominion will never end.
He rescues and he saves;
he performs signs and wonders
in the heavens and on the earth.
He has rescued Daniel
from the power of the lions."
So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

Michelle Obama, My Love For You is Like Three Hebrew Boys!!!

*dedicated to Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego

"Whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace."
---------------------[Michelle Obama, My Heart Is Singed Without You]-----(Sorry Barack! We can work something out with Michelle – YES WE CAN!)

Michelle, baby, you already know this
but I would rather burn than be without you

You see,
King Nebuchadnezzar is the prevailing choleric notion
that you and I are somehow incompatible; that we could never be
and it is an obstruction to my heart, like an image of gold, ninety feet high
daunting
that compels me to bow down, worship, find another woman
(and accept the fact that I am not good enough for you)
and just walk away
but I am resistant to the astrologers, and heralds (naysayers) that promulgate
this insidious conception, no matter how sweet
their horns, flutes, zithers, lyres, harps and all kinds of music portray it
I love you so much-no
I love you too much to give up on you so insouciantly
even if it stokes the fury of the king
and I am bound with chords of anxiety by strong, hulking men of intimidation
and tossed away
(by public opinion)

My love for you is trifold
Shadrach (devotion), Meshach (compassion) and Abednego (gentleness)
thrown immediately into a blazing furnace of appraisal
seven times hotter than usual
because true love must overcome the most severe adversity
but the God I serve (a fairy tale marriage) is able to save me
from those who doubt us,
from those who say we wouldn't last
I will emerge without a hair on my head singed
and with a fourth piece of love, like the son of the gods:
ardor

[and a kiss from your prominent lips :) ]

COME ON MICHELLE, I KNOW YOU GOT THAT WHOLE BARACK THING GOING ON, BUT GIVE ME A CHANCE! MY LOVE FOR YOU IS LIKE THREE HEBREW BOYS!!!

Daniel 3:1-30------------------------------------
King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, ninety feet high and nine feet wide, and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon. He then summoned the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials to come to the dedication of the image he had set up. So the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials assembled for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up, and they stood before it. Then the herald loudly proclaimed, "This is what you are commanded to do, O peoples, nations and men of every language: As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. Whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace." Therefore, as soon as they heard the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp and all kinds of music, all the peoples, nations and men of every language fell down and worshiped the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. At this time some astrologers came forward and denounced the Jews. They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, "O king, live forever! You have issued a decree, O king, that everyone who hears the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and all kinds of music must fall down and worship the image of gold, and that whoever does not fall down and worship will be thrown into a blazing furnace. But there are some Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon— Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego —who pay no attention to you, O king. They neither serve your gods nor worship the image of gold you have set up." Furious with rage, Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king, and Nebuchadnezzar said to them, "Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up? Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?" Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up." Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace. So these men, wearing their robes, trousers, turbans and other clothes, were bound and thrown into the blazing furnace. The king's command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the flames of the fire killed the soldiers who took up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and these three men, firmly tied, fell into the blazing furnace. Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, "Weren't there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?" They replied, "Certainly, O king." He said, "Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods." Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, "Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!" So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire, and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them. Then Nebuchadnezzar said, "Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king's command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God. Therefore I decree that the people of any nation or language who say anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego be cut into pieces and their houses be turned into piles of rubble, for no other god can save in this way." Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the province of Babylon.

Uriah Lived

*Dedicated to the memory of Uriah. Good men: persevere

An Entreaty Refused; Uriah's Prose (2 Samuel 11)-----------------
(The words of Uriah in King David's Court)

It was the latter end of December, years ago
at dusk
en route home after infantry training,
sloped against a dilapidated alley wall
I noticed a crippled, sickly, disheveled man
slightly writhing...sporadically convulsing (and coughing)
I hurriedly ran to him and extended my hand
hoping to provide him lodging at my house, shelter
from the shivery, frigid wind chills
but I was too late…his hands colder than the fiercest winter.
Before dying he stared directly into my eyes
"you are my second chance, redemption for a life
miserably mismanaged, cruelly expressed
if you seek my well-being, then promise to live fully and honorably (for me)
and don’t look back"
So now I always will myself to rise before the sun comes up
to make my peace before the Ark of the Covenant with God
I have made many mistakes and deserve more so to die than most
but by God have been spared, while others lament in Sheol
or pray to pass over there while unbearably writhing on earth
death before dishonor
a temporal noble life before eternal ignominy
that's what I promised him
I don't mind sleeping outside on the ground tonight
for this is a life
(my life)
worth dying for

[for Jerusalem, liberty, Abraham and Moses...
and my band of brothers in the fields marching]

2 Samuel 11:6b-11-------------------------------
And Joab sent him to David. When Uriah came to him, David asked him how Joab was, how the soldiers were and how the war was going. Then David said to Uriah, "Go down to your house and wash your feet." So Uriah left the palace, and a gift from the king was sent after him. But Uriah slept at the entrance to the palace with all his master's servants and did not go down to his house. When David was told, "Uriah did not go home," he asked him, "Haven't you just come from a distance? Why didn't you go home?" Uriah said to David, "The ark and Israel and Judah are staying in tents, and my master Joab and my lord's men are camped in the open fields. How could I go to my house to eat and drink and lie with my wife? As surely as you live, I will not do such a thing!"

I Am The Last King of Judah

[Jennifer I know loving you is fraught with perils but I refuse to listen to pure reason (the prophet Jeremiah) and choose to persist in loving you anyway. The demise of my love for you is certain...but let me savor these remaining moments I have as king (of my fantasies)]

Jeremiah (reason) warned me to surrender
to forfeit love
to let dreams die
Judah (my heart) has been besieged by marauding Chaldeans (pessimists, banishing hope)
my walls surrounded on all sides, pressed
Visions of kissing your lips starving, driven to despair
like residents of Jerusalem huddled together, bowing in prayer...fancying bugs for food
Nebuchadnezzar is the cessation of all good
(Your relationship with your boyfriend)
intent on regicide
destroying my affinity for you like soldiers
ransacking the kings house, the temple, and looting all valuables
burning everything left behind

And I will not so easily let you go Jennifer!
I will not surrender
though my ideals cannot escape
being captured and discomfited in the plains of Jericho
my two sons are like pillars of all that is left of me (My pride and resolve)
Aggrieved in these last days, knowing
you will be married soon
and taken from me
But they are slain before me in Riblah
by your rejection of me
and I am put forever in chains to pessimism and remorse
my eyes are put out for me, no longer able to conjure images of you and me together
as your boyfriend leads me to Babylon

JENNIFER HOW CAN I LET YOU GO? HOW CAN I LIVE WITHOUT YOU?
