+-----The Nile Of  Tony Conti's Singleness Sullied By Taylor Swift

Taylor, my singleness is
a morose tributary in Egypt rushing,
a despot walking apace
to its banks in the morning.
And dating rejection from
other girls like taskmasters with
whips with rock-sewn tips
abusing my heart like the
flagellated backs of a people
chosen (by Romance). But babes!
your spellbinding blue eyes are a
Hebrew prophet stashed in a wicker
basket, at birth, safeguarded, floating
down the Nile like a swan
full of purpose. Your smile inspiring,
like leitmotifs of hearing voices from
Flaming Bushes in desert places. If you
took me to Starbucks, kissed me-
a staff raised to the sky-  the Nile of
my loneliness dying, water turned
to blood, the fish of my lovelornness
belly up, stinking.

------Exodus 7:14-25
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh's heart is hardened; he refuses to let the people go. Go to Pharaoh in the morning, as he is going out to the water. Stand on the bank of the Nile to meet him, and take in your hand the staff that turned into a serpent. And you shall say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, sent me to you, saying, “Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness.” But so far, you have not obeyed. Thus says the Lord, “By this you shall know that I am the Lord: behold, with the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water that is in the Nile, and it shall turn into blood. The fish in the Nile shall die, and the Nile will stink, and the Egyptians will grow weary of drinking water from the Nile.”’” And the Lord said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, their canals, and their ponds, and all their pools of water, so that they may become blood, and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, even in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.’” Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded. In the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants he lifted up the staff and struck the water in the Nile, and all the water in the Nile turned into blood. And the fish in the Nile died, and the Nile stank, so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile. There was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.  But the magicians of Egypt did the same by their secret arts. So Pharaoh's heart remained hardened, and he would not listen to them, as the Lord had said. Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he did not take even this to heart. And all the Egyptians dug along the Nile for water to drink, for they could not drink the water of the Nile. Seven full days passed after the Lord had struck the Nile.

+-----The River That Cries; Moses' Thoughts Before Turning The Nile River Into Blood

I remember the cacophony, a boy
in a wicker basket set adrift
down the Nile - an eaglet panicked,
pushed from the nest…suspended in air-
by my Mother bawling, shaking. Behind
me Hebrew babies’ garbled wailing
with the ripples’ rising, the Nile sullied
and murky with their snot,
blood. Drowned by Pharaoh’s
edict. And now, a man revisiting
his past, this River, to pay tribute.
To emancipate his people, but first
to honor heritages of (little) martyrs
fallen. Ensuring all Egyptians know
the Nile Bloody will ALWAYS be their fault.

------Exodus 7:14-25
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh's heart is hardened; he refuses to let the people go. Go to Pharaoh in the morning, as he is going out to the water. +-----Bread For The Prophet; Elijah's Promise To The Widow In Zarephath

This David knew: a stick
is not a stick and oil…not oil.
But weaponry to slay Giants,
and viscous validation of years’
dreaming by Samuel poured; from
his hair trickling down like fruition of
a boy’s true belief- A wolf’s gleam,
the full moon reflecting in his eyes
before and after hunting well. And
now – Triumph (hunger’s) has
likewise visited Zarephath starving.
Asking only for faith’s acquiescence:
a bread morsel for the prophet prepped
by the very last of your oil, sticks.
Cook this meal for me, and I swear
you will never lack food again.

------1 Kings 17:8-16
Then the word of the Lord came to him, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to feed you.” So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Bring me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.”  And as she was going to bring it, he called to her and said, “Bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.” And she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. And now I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it and die.” And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said. But first make me a little cake of it and bring it to me, and afterward make something for yourself and your son. For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘The jar of flour shall not be spent, and the jug of oil shall not be empty, until the day that the Lord sends rain upon the earth.’”  And she went and did as Elijah said. And she and he and her household ate for many days. The jar of flour was not spent, neither did the jug of oil become empty, according to the word of the Lord that he spoke by Elijah.

+----- The Proper Order Of Things; Solomon's Thoughts While Building His Temple

Before he died, my Dad
pulled me close, whispered
in my ear, King to King, his breath
the first flutter of the dove’s wings
excitedly leaving Noah’s ark
lusting for first sight of land.
“The time for my warring is over…
you restore the proper order of things.”
Build God’s house amongst his
peoples’. So succeeding
generations can know, love,
and distinguish his voice from the
Serpent’s, Pharaoh’s, the Philistines’.
And perhaps – I’ll see you in Eden
again. One day redeemed.

------1 Kings 6:1-7
In the four hundred and eightieth year after the people of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the house of the Lord. The house that King Solomon built for the Lord was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high. The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits long, equal to the width of the house, and ten cubits deep in front of the house. And he made for the house windows with recessed frames. He also built a structure against the wall of the house, running around the walls of the house, both the nave and the inner sanctuary. And he made side chambers all around. The lowest story was five cubits broad, the middle one was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad. For around the outside of the house he made offsets on the wall in order that the supporting beams should not be inserted into the walls of the house. When the house was built, it was with stone prepared at the quarry, so that neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was being built.

+-----The Solomonic Temple Of Taylor Swift and Tony Conti's Coffee Date

Taylor, my heart:
an erstwhile nomadic
Hebrew people desert-trekking.
The Egyptian pain of the past -
rejection from other girls - like
despotic hallucinations of Pharaoh
amidst the sudden dusk-flutters
of tumbleweeds, singleness’s
treachery like my soul genuflecting
before a golden calf gargantuan,
forsaking it’s hope. But babes, now your
smile is Ten Commandments to stem
my gloom, your blue eyes my Canaan
of loneliness conquered,
a lavish King Crowned (Solomon). If you
took me to Starbucks, kissed me, a fitting
homage, finally, to Love’s Dominion
above and below: A Temple grandiose.
Sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide,
thirty cubits high. Our kiss years in
the making, like stone prepared at the
quarry. So no axe or tool of iron of
doubt can be heard while its being built.

+-----Holding Fast To A Dream; The Thoughts Of The Man With The Withered Hand Upon Being Healed By Jesus

I dream, often, of Odysseus
cursed by Poseidon ten years;
gazing at, unable to touch
Ithaca’s shores. Of Moses
reaching for Canaan, a bird
wingless pining for the breeze,
the sun dappled by clouds, forsaking
his chirps, instead: earth-bound howls.
And now, Thank You. A hand fleshed
is my soul’s new sigil. For the first time
I can seize smiles, cling to joy, hold
society’s inclusion. Without letting it slip
through frail fingers of infirmity’s curses.

------Mark 3:1-6
Again he entered the synagogue, and a man was there with a withered hand. And they watched Jesus, to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse him. And he said to the man with the withered hand, “Come here.” And he said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent. And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored. The Pharisees went out and immediately held counsel with the Herodians against him, how to destroy him.
